CHALLENGE: A stock-listed steel parts producer for mining industry wanted to have a quick, but in-depth outlook of specific regional coal mining cluster. The focus was to find where are the next capital investments taking place and by what mines?
BENEFITS: Client was able to estimate the future machinery and spare part needs and save time, as well, focus and prioritise their sales efforts on specific clients.
BACKGROUND: The mining industry is a tight-knit community in the western world. In Russia is very closed community. In this case, the clients (mines) would not reveal easily information of their current equipment stock and future needs.
Our client had a suitable product range for the segment, but lacked visibility of needs and opportunities in the region to estimate sales for the 2nd half the year for the specific product sub-segment.
OUTCOME: The sales division was able to meet the annual targets.
