SOFC is unmatched in efficiency among power conversion technologies. It operates independently of scale, achieves the highest efficiency in a single cycle, and features an inherently modular design. Its high operating temperatures enable the use of both hydrogen and carbon monoxide for energy conversion, as well as direct utilization of hydrocarbon gases like natural gas or biogas, thanks to internal reforming at the SOFC anodes.
Nordic Industries Development was engaged by Convion to assess the market potential of SOFC technology across various industries and segments in Europe. In September 2024 Convion came part of HD Hyundai corporation through a merger with HD Hydrogen.
